Myths about refurbishment with a heat pump
Refurbishment and modernization with a heat pump?
It doesn't get any better than this!
Around 35% of energy consumption in Germany is used to provide space heating and hot water in buildings. That is around 40% of all CO₂ emissions. This is largely due to the fact that most heating systems in existing buildings are not efficient enough or are outdated. Heating with fossil oil or gas also results in high losses. Replacing the heating system with a heat pump is one way of significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and preserving the value of an existing property in the long term.

Heat pumps cannot be used in existing buildings because high flow temperatures are required.
The fact is:
Thanks to the latest technologies, heat pumps can already achieve the flow temperatures required for existing buildings with radiators and work particularly efficiently.
Renovation measures were often taken before the heating system was replaced, ensuring that the heating requirement was reduced (e.g. the installation of new windows).
If new radiators with a slightly larger surface area are also installed, a heat pump can be used without any problems. The costs are kept within reasonable limits.
Heat pumps are too expensive.
The fact is:
Attractive subsidy programs such as the KfW funding program for heat pumps provide additional savings.
PuR GmbH will support you with the application process.
Electricity is no longer too expensive for heating – quite the contrary. Political measures are making oil and gas increasingly unattractive.
The fact is:
The electricity for heat pumps is billed via a separate meter and currently costs an average of around 21 ct/kWh (gross) – significantly less than normal household electricity. In many regions, there are even special heat pump tariffs that are even cheaper.
Future outlook:
Since the abolition of the EEG surcharge in July 2022, the price of electricity has been reduced. At the same time, prices for fossil fuels such as oil and gas are rising due to the CO₂ tax, which is increased annually. This makes climate-friendly heating with electricity not only ecologically sensible in the long term, but also economically attractive.
Heat pumps are only for "technology freaks". They are complicated to plan, install and operate.
The fact is:
Dimplex and its sales team will support you throughout the entire process. They will advise you on the correct design and planning of the heat pump.
Thanks to fully pre-installed solutions, installation is completed quickly and efficient, safe operation is guaranteed.
Operation is child's play and completely intuitive with a smartphone app.
I would like to have a geothermal heat pump, but that would ruin my beautiful garden.
The fact is:
Well-equipped drilling companies such as Dimplex Erdwärmeservice not only take care of all the permits, they also work in such a way that it is hardly noticeable afterwards that drilling has taken place.
The drilling is carried out as gently as possible using aids such as excavator mats, flushing containers and flushing preparation.
Heat pumps are too loud, you only have trouble with the neighbors.
The fact is:
When designing and developing our heat pumps, we at Dimplex paid particular attention to the issue of noise. Clever solutions and high-quality components ensure whisper-quiet operation.
For example through:
- high-quality fans that provide a natural air noise.
- a concealed fan wheel.
- the air flow is divided between two air outlets.
- the reduction of the air volume flow at night for peaceful sleep.
- the installation of the heat pump in the building.
Using electricity for heating is harmful to the environment.
The fact is:
The energy label for heat generators also takes into account the energy source used and the efficiency of electricity generation in its assessment.
Only heat pumps achieve the best values A+++ and A++ .
