Smart Climate System Manuals
The Dimplex Energy Control system automatically controls electrical heaters, lights and other electrical devices according to individually defined weekly programs. The system will help you reduce energy costs and make your home more environmentally friendly without compromising your comfort.
Before the Start
This chapter provides you with basic knowledge of terms and concepts used in the Dimplex Energy Control system.
Dimplex HUB is the central unit in the Dimplex Energy Control system. Dimplex HUB controls heaters, lights and other electrical devices according to weekly programs you specify. Dimplex HUB is connected to your wireless network and communicates with the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP on your smartphone or tablet. Your home is controlled from the APP according to your needs and wishes. You can control your home from anywhere in the world as long as the app is connected to the internet.
Dimplex HUB sends radio signals to RECEIVERS, which can be located in heaters, sockets or fuse boxes in your home. Each receiver has a unique ID code that allows Dimplex HUB to send signals to the correct device.
DTB-2R is a combined floor and room thermostat and power controller for built-in installation. COMFORT and ECO temperatures are set either on the receiver (thermostat) or via the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP interface.
DCU-2R is a receiver for Dimplex DTD heaters that can be controlled via Dimplex HUB. COMFORT and ECO temperatures are set either on the receiver (heating) or via the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP interface. DCU-2R is a receiver for Dimplex DTD heaters that can be controlled via Dimplex HUB. COMFORT and ECO temperatures are set either on the receiver (heating) or via the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP interface. This module includes both integration with the Dimplex Hub and standalone applications.
DCU-ER is a receiver for Dimplex DTD heaters NF and NT, which can be controlled via Dimplex HUB. COMFORT and ECO temperatures are set via the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP interface.
A station broadcasts certain events, e.g. B. when operating a switch panel, messages to Dimplex HUB. A transmitter can also be a sensor (temperature, magnetic switch, etc.) that automatically transmits events and status to Dimplex HUB.
With the Dimplex SW4 switch you can manually set your home or individual zones to NORMAL status or temporarily override them to COMFORT, ECO or AWAY.
Receivers that are to follow the same weekly program and temperature settings should be placed together in a ZONE in the APP. An example of this is all the heaters in your living room. A ZONE is simply a group of receivers that work in the same way. Heaters/thermostats should not be placed in the same zone as lights or other devices. A room can consist of multiple zones and a zone can contain receivers in different rooms. All receivers in a zone should preferably have the same functionality. If a zone has both a heater with a simple ON/OFF receiver (e.g.: DCU-ER) and another heater with an advanced receiver (e.g.: DCU-2R), then the simpler receiver limits the functionality in the zone. The two heaters should each have a separate zone in order to be able to utilize the functionality of the expanded heater. Devices with special usage patterns (e.g. engine heaters) should each have their own zone. Name each zone for easy recognition.
This apartment has been divided into four ZONES, each named for easy identification. Each receiver can only be included in one of the zones as they can only follow one weekly program at a time.
Each ZONE must be given a WEEKLY PROGRAM that tells the receivers in the zone how to behave over the course of a week. For each day of the week, you can set periods as COMFORT, ECO, AWAY or OFF and the recipients will then respond accordingly:
COMFORT Depending on the receiver type, your preferred COMFORT temperature is set either on the heater or in the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP. ON/OFF receivers are ON when the zone is in COMFORT status.
ECO
Depending on the receiver type, your preferred ECO temperature is set either on the heater or in the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP. ON/OFF receivers are turned OFF when the zone is in ECO status.
AWAY
The AWAY temperature is fixed at 7°C and cannot be changed. ON/OFF receivers are turned OFF when the zone is in AWAY status.
OFF
All receivers are completely switched off.
System setup
This chapter explains how to install Dimplex HUB and how to add receivers and other system units.
Important Information:
Dimplex HUB communicates with radio signals. Dimplex HUB must be mounted on the wall for optimal range. Some building materials such as reinforced concrete, steel-reinforced pier walls, etc. may reduce the signal range. If signals do not reach a receiver, it may be sufficient to move the Dimplex HUB 1-2 meters to the side to avoid the obstacle. Install the system and ensure that all receivers respond properly before finally attaching the Dimplex HUB to the wall.
System setup:
Connect the power cord to the Dimplex HUB and plug it into a power outlet
The Dimplex HUB must be connected to a local network via a cable (Ethernet cable) with a WLAN router. The cable can be connected directly to the router or to an outlet elsewhere in the building.
Make sure your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same wireless network and launch the DIMPLEX Energy Control APP. When the Dimplex HUB is connected to power and a local network, it transmits its ID code over the wireless network.
To install Dimplex HUB, follow the APP setup wizard. The APP searches for a Dimplex HUB and displays the results on the screen. Press the ID code that corresponds to your Dimplex HUB.
If more than one Dimplex HUB is connected to the same wireless network, the correct one must be selected in the setup wizard. Check the ID code on the back of Dimplex HUB and select the corresponding ID in the APP.
(Mind you: Only one Dimplex HUB can be installed at a time.)
For security reasons, you will be asked to enter the last 3 digits of your Dimplex HUB ID code. The ID code is located on the back of your Dimplex HUB.
Do not mount the Dimplex HUB on the wall until the setup is complete. In case you need to check the ID code again.
If the app has been connected to a Dimplex HUB on a local network, it can also control it remotely via the Internet.
System security is based on protecting your local network from unauthorized access. Make sure your local wireless network is password protected from intruders. Be careful when giving others access to your network. Anyone who has connected their app to your Dimplex HUB can later control it remotely via the Internet.
When the app and Dimplex HUB connect over a local network, they automatically exchange encryption keys. This is done to ensure secure, encrypted communication over the Internet through robust AES encryption. The encryption codes are generated by the app and stored in the app and the Dimplex HUB to prevent online surveillance.
If you do not want to control your system over the Internet, you can turn off the “Allow control over the Internet” option in “Settings”. This option can only be changed when connected to the local network. If the Internet control option is turned off and then back on, all previous users (apps) will be reset and will no longer be able to access the Dimplex HUB via the Internet. To regain access, the app and the Dimplex HUB must exchange new encryption keys. This is done simply by launching the app while connected to the local network.
- Make sure there is no firewall between your wireless and wired network (TCP traffic must be allowed on port 27779).
- Make sure your wireless network (connected to the APP) is the same logical local area network (LAN) as your wired network (connected to Dimplex HUB).
- Make sure your network allows UDP broadcast traffic (on IP 255.255.255.255, port 10000).
When Dimplex HUB is registered, other system units (receivers and transmitters) can be added. From the main (+) menu, select “Add New > System Unit”.
To install receivers, switch panels, sensors, etc., their ID code needs to be registered by the APP. This can be done in two ways:
1. Manual registration
2. Automatic search
From the main menu, select “(+) Add New”, select “System Unit” and then “Manual Registration”.
The ID code is a 12-digit number printed on the receiver. Enter this number into the text fields on the screen. Press “+” to enter multiple units at once. It is recommended that you only register one zone at a time.
On many Dimplex receivers, the ID code is printed as a QR code. The QR code can be scanned via the APP.
Battery powered receivers or transmitters (Dimplex switches) must be paired with the Dimplex HUB if the ID code has been added manually. During installation, the APP will notify you when a unit needs to be paired.
The unit is activated for pairing in the same way as for automatic search. For more information, see the unit user manual.
Most Dimplex receivers can connect to the APP and Dimplex HUB through automatic searching. Select “Automatic Search” in the APP. Next, you will be asked to turn on your system unit and the unit will send its ID code to Dimplex HUB. Multiple units can be connected at the same time. Simply turn on one unit and check that it appears in the APP overview before turning on another. The search can be interrupted if necessary. It is recommended that you only register one zone at a time.
DCU-2R, DCU-ER, DCU-2Te: Insert the unit into the heater. Turn the heater power switch from OFF (0) to ON (1).
DTB-2R Room and Floor Thermostat: Slide the switch from standby to ON.
Dimplex Switch SW4: Press the center of the switch once so that all four corners are depressed. The switch light flashes while searching for ECOHUB.
If one or more ID codes are registered, each unit should be given a name. Enter a name that is easy to understand. For example, “dining room heater”, “bathroom underfloor heating”, etc.
Each unit must be assigned to a zone. A unit will be added to the previously selected zone unless you select a different zone from the drop-down menu. A new zone can also be added using the drop-down menu. Give the zone a name that is easy to remember. For example “living room heating”.
Assigning a zone to Dimplex switches
Dimplex switch has two possible configuration modes: global control or local zone control. When you add a Dimplex switch to the system, the preferred configuration mode is selected. Global control allows the switch to control all zones. Local zone control lets Dimplex switches control a specific zone.
1. Global control:
When Dimplex Switch is configured as a global controller, it overrides and controls all unlocked zones in the system. A global Dimplex switch has the same functionality as the circle menu on the home screen. To assign this functionality to a switch, select “Global Control” from the unit setup screen. At the same time, Dimplex switches can be used as a temperature sensor in a zone. The zone can be selected in the drop-down menu.
2. Local zone control:
When Dimplex switch is configured as a local zone control, it is connected to a specific zone. Any overrides or operations of the switch only affect the associated zone. Select “Local Zone Control” in the unit setup screen to assign local control to the switch. The zone can be selected in the drop-down menu. Optionally, Dimplex switch can also be used as a temperature sensor in the same zone.
All system units (receivers and transmitters), zones and weekly programs that you have added yourself can also be removed from Dimplex HUB if necessary. The standard weekly program cannot be deleted.
Remove receiver/transmitter
Receivers and transmitters are removed by clicking in the menu
press and
Select system unit. Select one or more devices to remove.
Remove zones
In the menu, press
and choose
Zone. Select one or more zones to remove. Note: All receivers/transmitters in the zone will also be removed.
Remove weekly program
Press
in the menu and select weekly program. Select one or more programs to remove.
Zones that used a removed program will revert to their default program (factory settings). The default program cannot be deleted.
When Dimplex HUB is removed from an APP, it means that the Energy Control system can no longer be controlled by that particular phone or tablet. Other phones or tablets connected to the same Dimplex HUB are not affected and can continue to be used as normal.
To remove the Dimplex HUB, select
in the menu and then
Dimplex HUB.
Menus and functions
This chapter explains the screens in the APP and where the various functions can be found.
The HOME screen in the Dimplex Energy Control APP is divided into two views: STATUS and ZONES. Swipe sideways to navigate between views.
The STATUS view (circle menu) is the main control of your household and displays the active status. If the center of the circle is green, your home is in Normal status. This means that all zones automatically follow their individual weekly programs. The circle menu allows you to override your home to “COMFORT”, “ECO” or “AWAY” if necessary. The circle shows the active status in green.
Swiping left will take you to the ZONES view, which lists all the zones in your home. Tap a zone bar to view the system units in the zone. Tap the wrench icon to enter the settings screen for a zone.
The left symbol indicates that the zone follows the normal weekly program. The color of the circular border corresponds to the current active status for the zone according to the program.
Further menu items are located at the top left under the menu button.
If you come home earlier than expected on a cold winter day OR go away for the weekend OR go on vacation for two weeks, the normal weekly program can easily be temporarily changed. This is called an override.
An override interrupts the normal weekly program and replaces it with the selected status “COMFORT”, “ECO” or “AWAY” for a limited time.
Dimplex Energy Control has four types of overrides: CONSTANT, NOW, FROM–TO and TIMER.
Override: CONSTANTLY
A PERMANENT override remains in effect until you manually stop it. The override is useful when it is not yet clear when to return to normal.
Override: NOW
A NOW override remains in effect until there is a status change in the normal weekly program. If the override applies to more than one zone, all zones must have a status change in the weekly program before the override ends. The system will then automatically return to normal status. In the case of a weekly program with no daily status changes, a NOW override will end at 3 a.m.
Override: FROM–TO
A FROM-TO override allows you to select the date and time when the override begins and ends.
Override: TIMER
A TIMER override lasts for the selected number of days and hours. The default TIMER duration is 2 days (48 hours) unless you change it.
On the HOME screen, you can use the circle menu to override all your zones to “COMFORT”, “ECO” or “AWAY” status for a limited time. You can stop an override at any time by pressing Normal in the center of the circle.
Comfort
A single tap on “COMFORT” starts a NOW override. The normal weekly program is suspended and all zones switch to COMFORT status. Overwriting will automatically stop once all zones have changed status once. In the case of a weekly program with no status changes, the NOW override will end at 3 a.m. When the zones are changed back to normal, the center of the circle menu turns green.
An override can be ended at any time by pressing Normal or by another override.
The COMFORT override is useful if you come home early on a cold day and you want the heating to come on earlier than planned.
Eco
A single tap on “ECO” starts a NOW override. The normal weekly program is suspended and all zones switch to ECO status. Overwriting will automatically stop once all zones have changed status once. In the case of a weekly program with no status changes, the NOW override will end at 3 a.m. When the zones are changed back to normal, the center of the circle menu turns green.
An override can be ended at any time by pressing Normal or by another override.
The ECO override is useful if you go to bed earlier and need less heat for the rest of the evening. Other uses are when you leave the house for a few hours and don't need the COMFORT level heat.
Outside of the house
A single tap on “AWAY” starts a TIMER override. The normal weekly program is suspended and all zones change to AWAY status. The AWAY override is useful when you leave home for 2 days or more. The default AWAY override duration is 2 days (48 hours) before all zones return to normal. The default AWAY override duration can be changed in the SETTINGS menu.
EXTENDED GLOBAL OVERRIDES
To access the advanced override options, press and hold the desired Comfort, Eco or Away status in the circle menu. Or, if an override is already in progress, click the banner above the circle for advanced options.
Four types of overrides are available in the advanced menu: CONSTANT, NOW, FROM–TO and TIMER.
A FROM–TO override is defined by entering the time and date for start and stop. A TIMER override is defined by entering its duration in days and hours.
Overwriting a single zone can be done in the Zones view.
Local zone overrides are not affected by global overrides enabled in the circle menu.
Simple zone overrides
Tap the left icon once to start a simple NOW override for the zone.
If the current status of the zone is Eco, Away or Off, the simple override changes the status to Comfort. If the current status is Comfort, the simple override changes the status to Eco. The icon changes appearance when an override is active, making it easy to identify overridden zones in the list.
Tap the icon again to end the zone override.
A NOW override will automatically end with the next event in the weekly program or at 0300 (3 a.m.).
When one or more local zone overrides are active, a banner appears on the home screen. Tap the banner to end all local zone overrides.
Advanced zone overrides
Long press the left icon to enter the advanced zone override menu. Select the desired status and type of override (CONSTANTLY, NOW, TIMER or FROM–TO).
To stop overwriting, tap the left icon once. Alternatively, you can also tap the banner on the home screen.
Press the wrench icon in the ZONES view to enter settings for a specific zone. The Zone Settings screen contains options for controlling the zone.
Above is a list of all receivers and system units included in the zone.
Tap the receiver icon to get additional device information.
COMFORT and ECO temperatures can be set for each zone (provided the receivers in the zone have this functionality). Choose your preferred temperature according to room usage. For example, the COMFORT temperature in the living room can be very different from the COMFORT temperature in the bedroom.
The temperatures are set either on the receiver or in the APP. If in doubt, you should consult the receiver's operating instructions.
If APP temperature settings are not available, you will be prompted to set temperatures on the heater.
If a zone contains more than one type of receiver, you may be asked to adjust temperatures both on specific heaters and through the APP. (E.g. if there are two DCU-2R receivers in the same zone.)
The AWAY status sets the zone to 7°C in frost protection mode. This temperature is fixed.
The OFF status means that all receivers are completely turned off.
When using simple ON/OFF receivers to control heaters, the COMFORT temperature is set on the heater. ECO and AWAY are not available when using ON/OFF receivers and the heaters will then turn off.
Make sure the zone is protected from frost damage!
A zone can have one active weekly program. When the system is in Normal status, the zone follows the weekly program.
The active weekly program is selected in the drop-down menu.
Weekly programs can be adapted to your needs and new programs can be added. Press the wrench under NORMAL WEEKLY PROGRAM options to edit weekly programs.
The system has a predefined “standard” weekly program. This program cannot be changed.
If you want a zone to be exempt from global overrides, select Disable Global Overrides in the zone settings.
The zone will then follow the Normal program even if there is an active global override. The zone can still be overwritten locally, both via the ZONES view and via a local Dimplex switch.
In ZONES view, the Normal icon has a padlock icon when global overrides are disabled in a zone.
Press a receiver icon on the Zone Settings screen to obtain additional unit information (ID code, name and zone). From this screen the unit can be renamed or moved from one zone to another.
The RS700 and RSX700 receivers have the option of reverse ON/OFF setting. This requires special electrical installation by a certified installer.
Rename a zone:
Enter the zone settings and press the pencil icon
Rename a receiver/sender:
In the zone settings, press the receiver icon to enter the unit's info screen.
Press the pencil icon
to rename the unit.
A receiver/transmitter can be moved from one zone to another.
Press the unit icon on the zone settings screen. Select the new zone in the drop-down menu.
All weekly programs can be customized to suit your needs and new programs can be added.
Press the wrench under NORMAL WEEKLY PROGRAM options to edit weekly programs.
A weekly program consists of a 24-hour timeline for each day of the week.
Press
to create a new weekly program.
Enter a program name based on your needs (e.g. “Work Week”, “Home”). You can copy the timeline from an existing program to the new program as a starting point to save time. Select the program to copy from the drop-down menu. Changes are saved automatically.
From the left side of the timeline, touch and drag new sections into the timeline.
Add the number of sections you need and place them according to your schedule.
Delete a section by dragging the banner onto an adjacent banner.
Press a period in the timeline to select the desired status.
Select COMFORT, ECO, AWAY or OFF as the period status.
If several days in your weekly program are identical (e.g. working days), one day can be copied to other days. This saves some work when setting up a weekly program.
Press the tab with the program you want to copy (e.g. Monday) and select
. Then select the days you want to copy the program to. Press
for confirmation.
In the main menu under “Settings” you can set the default duration for AWAY overrides and also set access via the Internet.
You will also find information about the software version and licenses there.
Select Settings from the menu to change the default AWAY override period. The factory setting is 2 days.
This setting applies to both the circle menu in the APP and to every Dimplex switch connected to the same Dimplex HUB.
ALLOW CONTROL VIA THE INTERNET
If you do not want to control your system over the Internet, you can turn off the “Allow control over the Internet” option in “Settings”. This option can only be changed when connected to the local network. If the Internet control option is turned off and then back on, all previous users (apps) will be reset and will no longer be able to access the Dimplex HUB via the Internet. To regain access, the app and the Dimplex HUB must exchange new encryption keys. This is done simply by launching the app while connected to the local network.
ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS
Products that provide additional functionality for Dimplex Energy Control.
The buttons on the Dimplex switch correspond to NORMAL, COMFORT, ECO and AWAY in the circle menu. You can install as many Dimplex switches as you want in your home, depending on your needs (e.g. at the front door, in the bedroom, etc.).
To add a Dimplex switch, select (+) “Add New” and “System Unit” in the menu, just like adding a receiver.
At the same time, Dimplex switches can be used as a temperature sensor in one zone.
During operation, a green light will flash once on the Dimplex switch to confirm that the Dimplex HUB has received the signal. If the Dimplex switch does not flash green, move it closer to the Dimplex HUB and check again. Or try moving the Dimplex HUB. Some building materials such as reinforced concrete, steel-reinforced stud frames, etc. can reduce the signal range. In such cases, it may be enough to move the Dimplex switch or Dimplex HUB to the side by 1-2 meters to avoid the obstacle.
Make sure the Dimplex switch is flashing green before attaching it to the desired location.
Please note: Both Dimplex switches and Dimplex HUB must be mounted on a wall for optimal range.
Dimplex switch SW4 functions:
Press NORMAL (bottom left) to have the zones automatically follow their predefined weekly program.
Press COMFORT (top right) or ECO (top left) to activate a NOW override. The zones will automatically return to NORMAL the next time the weekly program is changed.
Press AWAY (bottom right) to activate a TIMER override. The zones will return to NORMAL after the predefined time has elapsed. The default TIMER setting is 2 days. This default time can be changed in the settings menu. When the standard time is changed, this applies to the circuit menu and all Dimplex switches connected to the system.
Zones in which “Disable Global Overrides” is enabled are not affected when operating a global Dimplex switch.
Dimplex switch can be used as an external temperature sensor. The sensor must be in the same room as the heater it controls. The room temperature is recorded and transmitted to the Dimplex HUB.
In a zone where Dimplex Switch acts as a temperature sensor, the room temperature is displayed in the zone list.
When the Dimplex switch works as a temperature sensor in a zone with DTD receivers, these heaters automatically regulate according to the temperature measured by the Dimplex switch. If the Dimplex switch has a dead battery or is out of range, the heaters will regulate according to their built-in temperature sensor.
Do not place the temperature sensor in direct sunlight, near a heat source (e.g. a fireplace) or in a closed container (e.g. a closet). Preferably, it should be placed on the wall, close to where you normally stay in the room.
EXAMPLES OF USE
This chapter gives some examples and scenarios for the use of Dimplex Energy Control.
Carrie just purchased Dimplex HUB with some heaters and a few outlet controls. She plans to divide her apartment into four zones. One zone for your bedroom heating, one zone for your kitchen and living room heating, one zone for underfloor heating in the bathroom and one zone for outdoor lighting and a lamp in the kitchen window. The latter is handy for making the house appear lived in when she's on vacation.
She adds recipients using Auto Search on her phone APP, one zone at a time, to avoid confusion. It names each zone and each receiver with easily recognizable names. That makes it easy for her and her best friend, who often borrows the apartment in the summer.
Finally, she enters the zone settings for each zone and creates a weekly program for each zone. For the bedroom, she sets a program that turns on the heating before she gets up on weekdays. On the heater she sets the ECO setting to 14 degrees and the COMFORT setting to 19 degrees. On weekends she likes to read in bed for a while in the morning. She therefore adjusts the weekly program to keep it warm a little longer on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
To save energy, the bathroom and kitchen/living room program lets her set the heating to ECO when she is at work on weekdays.
When she goes away for the weekend, she conveniently presses the AWAY button on the control panel next to the front door. All heating zones then switch to the AWAY status. In the light zone, she selected “Disable overrides” in the zone settings. This ensures that the lights turn on and off as usual.
All zones will return to normal after 2 days when she returns home.
Carrie is going on vacation and wants all her heating to be on AWAY status when she is away. She also wants to make sure her coffee maker, television, and other devices are turned off. She also wants her kitchen and outdoor lights to turn on and off to make the house appear occupied.
In the zone overview, her lighting is organized into separate zones and Carrie has “Disable global overrides” selected in the lighting zones. The lights then follow their normal weekly program, even if the rest of the house is set to AWAY.
Carrie pulls out her phone and presses and holds AWAY in the circle menu for advanced override settings. She selects FROM–TO and enters the time and date for leaving and returning. This ensures that she saves energy and money while she is away, while still making her house appear occupied.
Carrie found a smart solution by creating a zone with a radio connected to an outlet controller. She selected “Disable global overrides” to ensure that the zone with the radio follows the normal program and leaves it on for a while in the evening. This reinforces the impression that someone is at home.
Simon commutes irregularly during the week and often doesn't know how many days of the week he will be away. He wants to save money by turning down the heat when he's away, but still wants the house to feel lived in.
Simon created a zone with some lights that turn on and off automatically. He selected “Disable global overrides” to ensure that the lighting always follows its normal weekly schedule. As he walks away, he takes his phone and long presses AWAY in the circle menu. Then he chooses PERMANENT overwrite. This puts the house in AWAY status, with the exception of the lighting.

The network has a firewall or other restrictions
This is particularly relevant in companies or organizations with an advanced network configuration:
Make sure there is no firewall between your wired and wireless networks. (TCP traffic must be allowed on port 27779).
In order for the APP to automatically discover the Dimplex HUB, the network must allow UDP broadcast on port 10000 and/or UDP multicast on port 10001. If this is not possible or desirable, Dimplex HUB can obtain a static IP address from the router/DHCP server and then connect via the “Advanced” option in the APP setup wizard.
The network router has an error that prevents the system from functioning properly.
Dimplex Energy Control is based on standard network technologies that should be compatible with all routers. We do our best to ensure that the system works perfectly everywhere. However, we have noticed that some network routers have issues that prevent the system from functioning properly:
To circumvent such problems, combination modem network routers can be set to “bridge mode”. Then another network router can be connected to the first one to better provide the wired and wireless networks.

You are using a version of the app with a known issue.
Make sure you have updated your app to the latest version available to fix some known issues. Your app can be updated in Google Play (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS - iPhone/iPad).
The app was not connected to the Dimplex HUB via the local network (LAN) after updating to the latest version.
If the app and Dimplex HUB have been updated to a version that supports control over the Internet, each app must first be connected to the local network in order to exchange encryption keys with the Dimplex HUB. Control via the Internet only works after you have started the app at least once in the local network after the update.
Dimplex HUB is not updated to the latest version.
For control via the Internet, the Dimplex HUB must be running software version 66 or higher. You can check this in the app under Menu > Settings > Dimplex HUB info. The Dimplex HUB has an automatic update function. If your Dimplex HUB is not updating automatically, check if the Dimplex HUB is connected to a network with a good internet connection. Also see the troubleshooting section about “Dimplex HUB not updating automatically”.
The app is not updated to the latest version.
For control via the Internet, the Dimplex Energy Control app must be running software version 3 or higher. You can check this in the app under Menu > Settings > App info. If you can't find this information in the app, it means you have an older version. Please go to the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play (for Android) to update the app.
Control via the Internet is deactivated in the app settings.
Internet control is enabled by default, but can be disabled in the app under Menu > Settings. Launch the app while connected to your local area network (LAN) and make sure the “Allow control over the internet” box is checked.
The app has no internet connection.
Check whether your mobile/tablet device has a working internet connection. This can be checked, for example, by visiting a website in your mobile/tablet browser.
The Dimplex HUB does not have an internet connection.
Make sure the Dimplex HUB is connected to a network that has a normal internet connection. Dimplex HUB cannot be controlled over the Internet when connected to a local area network (LAN) that is separate from the Internet.
The Dimplex HUB has a green light that indicates the current status of the HUB:
- Solid green light: Fully connected to the local network, Dimplex Update Server and Dimplex Proxy Server. Dimplex Update Server is used to automatically update the Dimplex HUB. Dimplex Proxy Server enables control via the Internet.
- 1 x flash: Not connected to a network.
- 2 x flashes: Connected to the local network, but not to Dimplex Update Server or Dimplex Proxy Server.
- 3 x flashes: Connected to the local network and to Dimplex Update Server, but not to Dimplex Proxy Server.
- 4 x flashes: Connected to the local network and to Dimplex Proxy Server, but not to Dimplex Update Server.
- Continuous flashing for approx. 45 seconds: Automatic software update in progress.
- No light: Dimplex HUB has no power.
The Dimplex HUB is connected to the Internet behind unusually strict network firewalls.
Common firewall setups in network routers intended for personal use do not require changes to their default settings. However, if you have a specialized/advanced network setup (e.g. within a company), you must consider the following: The network must allow outbound TCP traffic on port 27778 of Dimplex HUB so that it can be controlled over the Internet.

Miscellaneous
Please check if the system works with another mobile phone/tablet if you have the opportunity. If possible, you can also try connecting the Dimplex HUB to another network to see if it works there. This can help determine the cause of the problem.
If you still cannot control properly via the Internet, contact your local dealer or Dimplex Heating & Ventilation Support and have the following information ready:
- Dimplex HUB serial number/ID (accessible in the app under Menu > Settings, 12 digits, for example “102000123123”)
- Dimplex HUB software version (available in the app under Menu > Settings, for example “114”)
- Software version of the Dimplex HUB Control application (available in the app under Menu > Settings, for example “3.0.5087.13040”)
- Name and model of the network router to which your Dimplex HUB is connected (for example “DLink DIR-655”) and, if applicable, information about special network settings (e.g. separate/advanced firewalls or firewall settings, web proxies, etc.)

Turn on the receiver.
The receiver is not placed in the correct zone.
Make sure the ID code is correct and placed in the correct zone. On the Zone Settings screen, press the receiver icon to display the ID code.
Signals from the Dimplex HUB do not reach the receiver.
If possible, move the Dimplex HUB closer to the receiver to see if this resolves the error. Alternatively, place another receiver between the two so that it can act as a repeater between Dimplex HUB and the receiver.
Receiver is defective.
Replace the receiver with a new one. (Consult your local dealer).
Start time is set incorrectly.
In the circle menu, press and hold override and check/correct the time.
Dimplex switch is out of range of Dimplex HUB
Put the Dimplex switch and Dimplex HUB closer together. Some building materials such as reinforced concrete, solid wood, etc. may reduce the signal range. In such cases, it may be enough to move the Dimplex switch or Dimplex HUB to the side by 1-2 meters to avoid the obstacle.
The ID code of the Dimplex switch is incorrect.
Try removing the Dimplex switch from the Dimplex HUB and then add the Dimplex switch again using automatic search. When the APP searches, press the center of the Dimplex switch so that all four corners are activated.

More than one function was pressed at the same time.
If more than one switch on the ECOSWITCH is pressed at the same time, the zones will not respond even though the ECOSWITCH lights up. Try pressing closer to the corners.
“Deactivate overrides” is activated in the zone and sets it permanently to the normal weekly program.
Check the zone overview to see if the zone is locked to the Normal weekly program.
The Dimplex HUB does not have an automatic function to adapt to summer time.
Open the app while it is connected to the same local network as the Dimplex HUB. The Dimplex HUB can take over the time from the phone or tablet.
